I always assumed anyone serious about their politics would be savvy enough to realize they are being worked.
I mean, a large corporation talks about saving the puppies, or inserting MAGA into his comics, I sure as hfil wouldn't spend any money on his shite. Instead I'd ask how any of that is relevant to the story, if I cared enough to look past the meat and potatoes of what it offered on its own merits. Ditto a small indy.
Only an idiot spends their money because someone agrees with their idealogy.
