Maybe in the 80’s and down, maybe even the early 90’s. But in 2021 that is a fringe number.

It's also not particularly provable.

The murder of Kitty Genovese happened in the 1970's. The New York Times reported it. The editor knew the facts didn't line up with his headline of nobody acting during a widely heard rape and murder, because he didn't want to "kill the story".

In other words, he lied for sensationalism. This is the New York Times, blatantly lieing to get people angry, so we have it only on their word (And the word of their peers) that hate crimes are so rampant.

Better than you do, apparently.

And how does that compare to heterophobic attacks?

And who would attack hereto's for being hetero?

Even if there were roving gangs of hooligan flaming homosexuals out to smash in a straight man's skull, I'm not sure that would prove anything about anything.

Even if there were roving gangs of hooligan flaming homosexuals out to smash in a straight man's skull, I'm not sure that would prove anything about anything.

So my point still stands - there are more homophobic attacks than heterophobic.

Or are straight people at risk of getting beaten up for their sexual preference? Because even if Squall (and by implication, your)'s point that homophobic attacks are a 'fringe' event, it is still higher than being attacked for being heterosexual.

So back to my point (and Mr Mind's): coming out in certain parts of the world (yes, even in the west) puts you at risk of harm. Is it low? Lower than the 80s? Not the point. The point is that that risk is HIGHER than for heteros 'coming out'.

Hence, brave.

Also, Antonio Banderas played Ahmad ibn Fadlan in the 13th Warrior. More 'raceswapping' without a black man/woman.

Depends on the context.

Of course, coming out in a hostile environment is brave. You can't really argue the same for the entire country.

Again, people have staged fake attacks. Some have even staged fake race designations. That isn't an act of bravery, it's one of exploitation.

On average, I think the suburbs and city are about as gay friendly as hetero these days.

No one even blinked in my family when a few cousins came out. Not even any gossip.

'I never saw any homophobia, it mustn't exist!'

OK.

And? Do the fake attacks negate everything else?

And I said 'parts of'. Not 'the entire'. Point still stands - it is higher risk for homosexuals to come out than it is for heterosexuals to come out. Hell, even the terminology 'coming out' implies it had to be hidden in the first place (but don't try and take this off on some tangent on linguistics).

Hetero sexuals don't come out. That's the default setting.

Cracking open cdtm's skull will give me so much satisfaction.

Do you? How many countries have you traveled to in the last 10 years?

Minus Russia, how many countries in the west that are against straight couples they will outright kill them?

The **** are you guys doing still talking about this? And in this thread and all?

This isn't the GDF.

😂 Russia isn't part of the western world.

I just want to see Darksaint stop picking low hanging fruit.

I bet he could do really well arguing for team MAGA or Gamma, yet he always uses his skills to punch down instead of up. 😋

If they were talking about Polish culture, it makes total sense to bring up Swizterland.

Assuming that's true, great. if not, great.

Just do it somewhere else, please. All of you.

Next issue of Infinite frontier….heroes are already fighting DS….how is that even going to work?

The guy that can literally narrate an issue is suppose to fight a few low herald heroes and not stomp them?

comics really don't care about power levels
