We both know what happened when a character got defeated and still appeared in later stories.

We both know the difference between getting defeated and getting killed..........

Actually, if he didn't get help Hulk would have healed up and Thing could be dead, if Hulk wanted that.

The Darkest Knight wasn't even KO'd. Superboy Prime gave the heroes a fighting chance, that's a long way from a defeat.
