I think the simplest explanation is to ignore the sock and see that the situation remains: a long-time, very proud poster who imploded because he needed to double down on a series of creepy posts.
I prefer to believe that the sock wasn't you, and that it was a banned poster, because the most uncomfortable thought amongst this whole mess is the idea that you would start saying hateful things about your family to turn the tables in an internet fight.
