Heyheyhey... that's because more writers have realized that Steve is just that badass. He went through a period in the 80's and 90's where writers tried to make him seem a little more realistic, now there are more and more that are just like "F*ck that" lol

Cap is just catching up with what street levelers in DC have been doing casually for decades.

Iron Man is lucky he's from Marvel, otherwise Katana would have long crippled him.

Yeah, but Cap's also has at least some rudimentary understanding of chi and such too. He's obviously no Ironfist in that department, but he does have a peak human brain and crazy skills so I doubt he's not pulling at least a little extra from it. As far as taking punches go he's got the physiology, the armor, and he's been shown to reflexively roll with a punch that caught him by surprise from behind. With all that going for him I can see him being pretty difficult to KO h2h. I've been saying for a while that at his core Cap seems more like a "light" version of Karate Kid than he does Batman with a shield.
