Batman is just an illusion
the real Bruce Wayne walks in and out of the Gotham elite partiesHe goes to tanning salon, works out in private health club, drinks only fiji or perrier water. He loves jean paul gaultier colongue and Armani suits. He only goes to VIP for concerts. He can't live without xanax or valium.
Everytime he walks pass the street of Gotham, he likes to wave around 10 dollar bills in front of the homeless, when they try to reach and grab the bills. He would light it on fire.
He likes to dissect women while listening to Phil Collins. Or have a nice dinner in Dorsia with Robin, if they get the reservation.
Robin is into that whole yale thing.
If I was a hack DC writer I'd do an alternate reality with that Bruce Wayne, I'd call it Prime Wayne and he'd beat the crap out of every other Batman in the multiverse casually while drinking martinis.
You know the old "Jim Starlin must be on acid" meme?

What does any of that have to do with politics
The writer claiming Lex is asking the reader "Why be a better person? Give in to your worse self."
That's pretty topical these days.
And just in general, there's this ongoing narrative that fans go after "diversity" or "women" because they're all misogynistic "Comic Book Guys".

That's a mighty reach. That whole trope is classic. Gotta stop projecting.
Fans go after anything that deviates from what they stan over. It's as simple as that.
