One trope I despise, is the thing where one trusted member of a team spots a conspiracy, and nobody gives them the benefit of the doubt, despite their history of service and valor. Think Ted Kord in Infinite Crisis, who everyone blows off when he goes to them over Checkmate.
This happens to THREE characters in GI Joe, when they start piecing together the existence of Cobra. Two of them go rogue over it, and Scarlett gets put on trial for her life for being in contact with one of the rogues (Snake Eyes).
Of course, hard evidence comes in and exonerates her, but that doesn't change the fact three good Joe's coming to the same conclusions should have had Hawk trusting them enough to follow up on it.
