80s and 90s artwork is better than today's

anybody agree?

Modern comics are drawn both better and worse than older comics depending on the artist. The coloring is something that has improved universally. I realized this when I was comparing Marvel: The End to one of the books in the Thanos: Infinite trilogy. But the composition and line-work is hit or miss.

The problem is that some newer books are terrible. But it usually comes down to the heavily stylized comics that are "inspired" by cartoons, that are designed that way because it's cheap to draw and anime. Squirrel Girl is a perfect example.

Outside of the Batman Arlham stuff DC has nothing but an average MK rip off in Injustice. Marvel Lego games sell just as much as the DC ones. And truthfully if its not COD, Madden or 2K the general public doesn't know about a game dropping unless they are looking for it.
Batman and Superman are global pop icons. Because those are the only two characters DC focuses on. They keep going to those two over and over instead of taking chances with new characters.

SHIELD regularly git more ratings than the CW stuff. And nearly every streaming show got critical and fan praise for being original and pushing the envelop. While DC turned every show into teen dramas; bad teen dramas and appeals to comic book fans.

Marvel's entire sthick from the 60's until now was to sell multiple characters. Theres a reason why most studios jumped in buying their IP up over the indies.

even their cartoons aren't successful without Batman.
Honestly there's a reason why AT&T cut their staff by 15%

Marvel shouldn't have 65% of the market that's insane . DC had 45% of it 10 years ago now its down to 40%. Hell Marvel only had 50% of the market 10 years ago. Marvel isn't making really good books or lessen their count of books either. If I were everyone start to wonder why one business model works and when the other is being subdized by massive companies to survive. Remember Marvel been kicking DC's without Disney for decades and Warner backed DC since the 70's.

As someone who wants the industry to grow and to adapt and to get new readers. I would suggest DC do the following.
1. Fire all the staff start from scratch.
2. Let's kill Batman off for a decade.
3. Get some actual big name writers not comicbook writers but tv and novel writers.
4. Start promoting books on YouTube, TV and other apps. Start paying major influencer to promote your shit.
5. Go in school and start showing your characters off. Show the kids there's a character for everyone no matter the race, religion, and nationality
6. Actually have a cohesive universe

And also, give secondary characters major shine for awhile , not just a one off story. Get the fans interest then drop a good mini or two. Don’t just drop a solo and half ass push it.

Why are you plagiarizing?

That's why I said DC is more than just super-heroes. Vertigo, Wildstorm, Hanah Barbera, Milestone, etc... DC obviously takes more risks and is more diversified.

😂 Haha no it isn't, Most of Marvel places take place in the real world cities and places. Most of DC stories are in Metropolis, Gotham, Coast City, Centeral and ect. Now saying Marvel doesn't have them as well but most of their stories take place in New York, L.A. San Francisco and ect. Most people can relate to real world cities alot more over fake ones. Great example why do you think New York has majority of the heroes?

Marvel has touched in police brutality, 911, race relations, sexuality, ect for years.

DC has some of the most iconic films in history and has had some major successes like Joker, Batman 89, Nolan Batman films, Superman in the 70's Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Yet Marvel has had Fox and Sony do their first movies which were hit or misses but they mad an impact. Even the MCU itself has done things no franchise has done in history. They gotten people who don't care about comics or know anything and made them huge. Majority's of DC based films have flopped except the ones I named. Characters like Iron Man, Thor, Ant-man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther and ect have become major pop culture iconcs because of their films. Think about the DC and Vertigo films. Besides 4 characters name some that are icon8in the public's eye you can't.

You're talking with the one of the most non biased people you'll ever met that reads dc, TRUST ME, I know what i'm talking about. EVERYTHING I say isn't up for dispute.

I always like reading your threads, even if I feel like I disagree as much as I agree with them. Good stuff though. 👆

Khan def puts effort in his threads.

Thanks. Do you disagree with specifically with my recent thread about Raimiverse Spider-Man's quips, or are you referring to a different thread?
