Well that's what they said, but I'm not sure the ending will be any better. I mean...maybe better than that ending sure, but like...being better than that wouldn't be too hard to do and the ending could still be bad.

Oh I think the ending, along with most of the film, will still be horrendous(assuming the leaks are legit.)

I'm just legitimately surprised that "woke" Disney didn't stick with the ending where a female lead stomped the christ out of an oppressive white male.

Don't wanna risk getting flak for showing violence against the elderly. Joker can't show violence existing without it being worthy of offense, so a young girl abusing an old man would certainly draw criticism.

rumor has it (this whole thing is rumor btw) george lucas helped create a third version which has been successful. But don't get your hopes up. I take all of this well salted and suggest you all do the same.

Given the first ending was laughed at, any other kind of ending would be better.

He had a source close to Disney on and says Disney would never do test screenings for Star Wars as to avoid spoilers and stuff.

^ A shame though as I suspect the ending will be poor. So kind of liked the idea that they changed it to improve the film.

After the backlash TLJ received, a test screening doesn't sound far-fetched. Disney or anyone associated with it isn't going to admit "we test screened 6 different endings" because it makes the movie sound directionless.

I'm not saying a test screening did happen...just saying that it isn't far fetched and I don't see Disney admitting it.

What I absolutely do believe however, is that Lucas consulted on the film. Disney is finding that GL isn't receiving the kind of hate he was getting in the past and there has been a rekindled fondness for the PT. Yes, many people still hate them...as evident by comments here, but outside of KMC, you will find lots of "If Hayden is not in Episode 9 then I will be so let down."

Remember Hayden was the guy who sucked so bad......but Star Wars 9 will be ruined if he's not in it.
