Movies you didn't like, but now do.

Scrooged.

Didn't like it, but have come to appreciate it.

Red Belt

Couldn’t get through the first 30 minutes first time I watched it. Turned out to be one of my top 10 movies.

I didn't like Deadpool the first time I saw it. Liked it more upon 2nd viewing.

Kazaam.

Casino. I had trouble finishing the film the first watch through due to the focus on Ace and Ginger's relationship in the latter half of the film moreso than the first. However, it's strengths with the opening half (especially the first act) and all the casino dealings are strong enough that it's an 8-9/10 movie for me, even with the dysfunction in marriage stuff that doesn't need to be in the movie.

More mainstream recent examples: Superman: The Movie and Iron Man 2.
- Supes I thought was corny when the late 2000's/early 2010's gritty action/superhero movies started appearing. It's harder to appreciate seeing Reeve for the first time since childhood when your hung up on Heath Ledger's Joker and Snyder's Watchmen and Man of Steel. There is a place in my heart for all of that now, and Reeve's first outing as Kal-El is my favorite Supes movie still.
- I watched Iron Man 2 a few days ago with my wife. Man, that is a fun movie to watch after seeing how the MCU has developed in the near decade since IM2's release. Plenty of weaknesses, but it's such a good time that they can be overlooked. I always considered it the worst of the MCU bunch, but nah, that award can go to Incredible Hulk or Thor 1 or Cap 1 now.

Guardians of the galaxy volume 2.

I will admit the opening scene with the music playing and a baby groot doing stuff still makes me cringe though.

Pan's labyrinth, Didn't like it the first time that i watched it but now i do.

I didn't like The Blair Witch Project the first time I saw it at the height of its popularity.

Then I watched it at home, alone, in the dark, late at night...and I was creeped the **** out. That's when I got why it works.
