Can Achilles take down 100 men single-handedly?

As the title says.

We put Achilles on a battlefield against 100 armed men, he is Bloodlusted.

We'll handicap the men and give Achilles tons of Spears, his sword and shield, if you want an exact number of spears, let's say 120 for the sake of being able to pick them off from far away.

The men have swords only, and are average grunts from his universe.

Starting distance of 200 feet, fleeing means he loses the bout, battle takes place in the same place he fought Boagrius.

With ease. He’s taken more down in Troy.

Eh. It kind of Sucked...and His fighting style in that movie was really Retarded. As in He fought like a tard.

Troy wasn’t a bad film. It falled on the same line as the latest Hercules film, starring the Rock.

Troy did have the like of Sean Bean as a supporting cast though. Pitt was decent.

Troy had one of the best sword duels in movies and Achilles' fighting style was awesome.

Fly has no idea what’s he’s talking about. Achilles fighting was second to none. If you watched the behind the scenes they talked about They had Brad train in that unique way.

Look at guys like Arnold's Conan, Crowe's Maximus, Mortensen's Aragron, Thurman's Bride, Whitfield's Spartacus or Butler's Leonidas. Their footwork is usually awful, their blade handling awkward, their body mechanics incorrect, and their sword swings (and general movements) are either too stiff, too flimsy or too wild.

I'm not a big fan of Brad Pitt, but he deserves credit for his fight scenes. He brings a good deal of athleticism and physical dominance in his fight scenes that is usually unequaled by other non-martial artist actors.

Since this is based off things in history then no, he gets swarmed and dies. They wont be coming at him 1,2,or 3 at a time. They will bumrush him and he will die

Well, Achilles will likely lose eventually, but it will be costly. IF the men march in an organized manner, Achilles can just start skewering them with spears and by the time they get close they’d have been whittled down quite a bit and he’d likely take a few more as they close in. If they go full run towards him, he’d likely get maybe 10 tops before they close in but they’d be extremely disorganized when they arrive (unless they stop to reform but that means he’d get some pretty good spear tosses in before they are able). But if they decide to just run and swarm, he can jump into the middle of the disorganized mob and rip them apart from the center. He’d still go down eventually but they’d lose quite a few men, would prolly lose dozens more than half their men.

That’s how I see it anyway.

The best chance for Achilles would have been to run away and keep throwing his spears (although I realize now that there is no way he can carry like 120 spears stick out tongue) til he runs out but the no running away stip kinda REALLY hampers him a LOT.

Edit. Losing the spear-run tactic, he could also just run away and let them chase him and then turning around and killing those who are in the front then running again. Did Achilles have any solid running showings in the movie? I can’t remember. Anyway, moot as he’s not allowed to run away.

If the men fight like idiot fodder retards, and rush in 2s and 3s tops, he could clear pretty easily TBH. But if they actually operate with proper training, precision and unity, he kills a bunch of them before going down.

There is actually a great example of this kind of thing towards the end of Spartacus, with Gannicus. The guy was easily one of the best fighters in the show, and could fodderise large groups of opponents when he could fight in his preferred manner. However, when he actually got surrounded by a coordinated group of enemy soldiers who actually used their numbers competently, he eventually got overwhelmed, because he simply didn't have the room (or the amount of arms needed) to deal with that many opponents, coming at him from all sides.

And I am not saying Gannicus == Achilles, but the principal stays the same. If you have 10 guys thrusting weapons at you at once and no room to move, there is only so much you can do before you inevitably start getting tagged. And once you start taking hits, especially stab wounds, things go downhill rapidly.

He kills ten at the most if they show any level of competence. The could literally just surround him and run at him with their swords out and their wouldnt be shit he could do about.

The supporters of this are just showing..."Support" for a movie where Brad Pitt wears a skirt.

My argument was based on 200 feet and Achilles having 120 spears. And the fact that Achilles can throw spears at a near superhuman level and them not having shields.

In an organized marching formation on a standard march, it would take them about 40 seconds to close in. In a double time full jog, about 25 seconds. If we follow standard marching time. (https://www.itstactical.com/skillcom/navigation/marching-cadence-and-speed/).

At standard march while maintaining formation, Achilles would likely get off maybe 20 spear throws, if we go 2 seconds per throw. 12 on a double time. Both would need them to close in, close ranks and then advance and surround if they want to make full use of their numbers. Surrounding in an organized fashion would still take a few seconds more (I think 10) and Achilles would take down more soldiers that way as he uses a spear vs their short swords. That would mean they would end up with losses of about 20-30 men either way. More if he decides to maneuver around them. Again, they have to chase him and a formation isn’t really very good at chasing down a single enemy. If they go full run and attack as a disorganized mob, he will own those that manage to get ahead of the pack.

They don’t need to be “idiot-fodder”, there are tactics Achilles can use to kill loads of them before going down (tho I do believe he goes down). Remember that Achilles has more spears than there are men so he has the initiative, they have to close in and do it in an organized fashion to stand a chance.
