Okay, just did it. At first they got angry and then I pointed out "leftists are saying Mary Poppins wore black face" and everything was okay once all the laughter died down. One of them even high fived me as I left.

If someone made up some twitter account, called it "Professor" something, P.H.D. from Yale, and tweeted some ridiculous racial critique of, I don't know, CW's The Flash. Say, arguing the "dark matter" is really a racial allegory for the evils of "blackness", and how Cisco's plan is to "Whitewash" everybody.
Assuming this got noticed and trended on twitter, would the papers just run with it? Would they bother to background check the self proclaimed professor first?
