Let's talk about Ilhan Omar

If you haven't followed the drama: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/02/11/ilhan-omar-anti-semitism-allegation/2836508002/

Ok, first off:

Do you believe what she said is anti-senetic?

It looks to me, like she's being censored for suggesting Israel lobbyists influence American politics. Multiple politicians have denounced this as "traditionally anti-Semitic tropes."

If this is the case, how can one criticize Israel lobbyists on the influence of money, without invoking an anti-Semitic trope about Jews and money?

Unless everything she said is a lie? Is it a lie, that Israel lobbyists spends a lot of money to influence politics?

I don't know her history of tweets but taking this one at face value just seems like more outrage culture, it was nothing.

The notion that any criticism of Israel or Israeli's is automatically anti-Semitic is one of the most pervasive and idiotic arguments in all of politics.

I say we cut this close ties we have with Israel. We have done way to much for Israel, and it needs to stop.

I asked my pro-Israel pal why she is so pro-Israel, other than religion.

It was, "We are allies and should protect our allies because that's what it means to be allies." I asked, "So what do we get out of it?"

I'm going to assume she doesn't feel the same way about the Us' other allies i.e the other NATO countries.

Did she not have an answer?

So Trump is whining about what he perceives as racist comments? Lolz.

Anyhow, for once I agree with Squallx, there's no reason the US should support Israel like it does above and beyond her other allies, she's the regional super-power in the ME as it is and can afford to buy our weapons at full price; not the massive discounts we do now.

Problem is, there's a ridiculous amount of pro-Israel lobby money and add to that some uber-Christian politicians legitimately believe in the "Jews are God's chosen people and Israel is a special baby." sentiment.

That’s always the go to answer for most pro Israel. There’s nothing wrong protecting our allies, but handholding them all the way is the wrong way to go.

Like you said, what have Israel done for us.

Israel isn’t the the same Israel from the Bible. A theifdom has taken place.
