Although I admitted that Tulsi Gabbard is easily the most reasonable (and she is definitely the best-looking of the bunch, by far) of all the democrat candidates I'm still pretty sure that she supports abortion & more gun control so there is no way I'd ever vote for her either despite me, for the most part, agreeing with her on her foreign policy stance.

There are only two dems I'd vote for: Tulsi or Andy Yang.
Looks like you don't have to worry about voting democrat in the next election because neither of those will win the primary.
Tulsi just isn't the democrats sweetheart and Yang doesn't really possess the bs ability the other politicians have (which is exactly why I like him.)

I know she's not running for Pres, but do you think AOC is qualified to be a congresswoman? She doesn't have a J.D, and despite having graduated cum laude with a economics and international studies degree from Boston University was stuck working as a bartender prior to being elected.
Why not?
Reagan is considered by the Right to be the greatest American president and hero. He got C's in a liberal arts college, majored in sociology and economics, was a cheerleader, went into tv and radio, farted around a bit in the military reserves on restricted service duty all before getting into lower level politics; then working his way to Governor of California and then used that to eventually springboard himself into the Presidency.

California was Conservative for a long time; there lay its roots. There's entire counties here that are Conservative to Far Right.
We have some Rightwing nutters (I know, redundant) who declared themselves separate and formed in their minds "The State of Jefferson".
We the people of the 23 counties of Northern California, hereafter known as Jefferson, formally demand an immediate Article 4, Section 3, (U.S.) state split. We declare the State of California is in open rebellion and insurrection against the government of the United States.
Governor J. Brown, Lt Governor G. Newsom, Senate Pro Tem K. León, Speaker A Rendon, States Attorney General X. Becerra, Senator K. Harris, and the majority of voting members of the California Legislature, have openly and publicly declared war on the government of the United States." -snip
Last year when I drove to Oregon to stay a week with a friend, I drove through at least one of these "Jefferson" towns. They had signs all over, was hilarious.

Sad, but true.
