Having seen 3 grandparents and having worked in a community home with people with stage 1 and 2 dementia I can tell you that there are times when the person can seem coherent, but it doesn't negate the fact that they're in steep cognitive decline.
Fact is, that even despite his relative lack of appearances for a presidential hopeful some of his gaffes do point to severe cognitive decline, like nearly forgetting Obama's name, mistaking his sister for his wife, arguing with an interviewer and asking him to "take this outside" are clear cut signs of the disease.
He did a decently rehearsed speech for about ten minutes with a teleprompter, but that is no where close to debating for 2 hours.

Yeah this is why it’s generally not a good idea to be lowering expectations for your opponent. If he ends up coming off as even marginally competent it will be seen as a huge victory for Biden. You’re supposed to lower expectations for your candidate to make things easier for them, not your opponent.

You just illustrated why it was wrong for folk to lick Biden's nutsack after he gave one good speech. It was seen as a huge victory and then those who celebrated it as such were proven to be incompetent rubes when he slipped back into his dementia stage soon after.
