I know this is shocking that leaders of a country are actually interfering with the US election but this is what actual election interference looks like from a foreign nation, in case anyone is interested.

Of course both Russia and China are trying to influence the US elections to their benefit, but I think we are talking about very different levels here. TBF, that was in early 2000's and he was at costume party, repeat: Costume. Party. It's not like he was walking around any given Sunday dressed as a brown shirt and goosestepping.
Sure it was in bad taste even back then and you're free to trigger over it, though I though only "leftist snowflakes" got upset over costumes(?), but that has nothing to do with him talking about racism. No connection. Zero levels. Zilch.

I wasn't upset over it though. I find it hilarious. I'm just disappointed he didn't show up with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist.

You have to buy into the Western framing however, maybe things are wrong with Maduro's government, but that should surely not be something that is fixed by undemocratic interference and coups backed by the United States. And history bears out that in the run up to these coups, invasions, assassinations, economic destabilizations carried out by the United States there is a concerted effort by politicians and the media to smear the governments of the countries that are inconvenient to Western interests....why should it be different with Maduro and Morales?
There is no reason to give the United States (political class and media alike) the benefit of the doubt, they have continuously lied about their foreign policies throughout the last 100 years (and going further back), they are not a good faith actor, and trusting their statements at this point is clearly insanity.
