Anyways, the point isn't about the specific story really it's about the way Big Tech reacted. And twitter went through a myriad of excuses, from "hacked material" to "personal information" and "not verified" for doing what they did.
And yes they are, for now, free to do that. What is alarming is when they choose to do this kind of stuff and when they do not. Melania Trump gets recorded without her consent and that can be on twitter and you can link to stories with it no problem. Unverified Russian bounty story wasn't dealt with like this. Trumps tax story wasn't dealt with like this.
Twitter even prevented government officials from tweeting out the story(press secretary was locked out of her account, not sure if she still is). It was only a matter of time before they went too far and perhaps this time they have. It's almost irrelevant now whether or not the Hunter story turns out to be legit. The simple fact is they do not treat other stories they do not know to be legit like this and we know why.
Okay so I guess the latest thing triggering some on the left is that tonight ABC is having a Joe Biden townhall and NBC has scheduled a townhall tonight for Trump lol.
Meh, this day and age people will be able to watch both within a few days. Whichever one you don't watch tonight you can catch a replay or something the next day somewhere. It sounds like some are afraid of what the ratings will look like.
I'm sure this is what Trump wants. It's a bold move, it could backfire on him though as he could lose the ratings war.

Twitter and Facebook can do whatever they want. What kind of dumbasses are going around asking for some strong moral character from a ****ing organization like TWITTER or FACEBOOK. What are we expecting them to be like, the arbiter of the news? This is why people talk about the importance of like, newspapers and shit and how they have been pushed out by people who seem only capable of getting their news from their twitter feed.
Twitter and Facebook and any organization like it will do whatever they will in order to make the most amount of money at any given time. It is a free service people agree to join.
You don't want to get censored or something? You worried you'll get locked out of your twitter account? What do these people expect? Freedom of speech doesn't exist on a private platform like that, same as in a place like this. Do any of us think a member here is getting CeNsOrEd by the mods when they get banned?
