No, the problem with the polls were the poor and outdated sampling methods and the left-leaning skew. They still have merit if you can get around the Bradley Effect or take into account the Bradley Effect.
For example, with 2016 Hillary-winning polls, just subtract off 2%-8% support for Hillary and that made them very accurate. You didn't evene need to add support for Trump: just take away the pro-Hillary skew and you got decently accurate polls. 🙂
