It's been common knowledge about him for a long time. He married Aaliyah (which Tzeentch has just alluded to) when she was a teen and that was back in the mid-90's. But it's not about what you know, it's about what you can prove. Glad to see they're finally getting something solid on this guy.
People both knew and had proof, the many underage girls he abused. People just didn't give a shit. The Black community is partly to blame for this, they especially should not have turned a blind eye because Kelly's music is popular.
He literally made a sex video with a 15yo.

A friend of mine pointed out that you never heard about black child molesters in the media (this was about 20 years ago now.) It's only over the last decade that I've realized that it probably has a lot to do with the fact that black children, depending on their circumstances, would be even less likely than a non-black child to report any kind of sexual abuse due to being disenfranchised by the system or at the very least, are not convinced by the efficacy of the police.

What a sick bastard
Originally posted by mike brownyeah but iirc the big problem in the cosby case was that so many of the accusations were from crimes that happened so long ago the statute of limitations expired on a good number of them.
I don't think that will happen. Cosby was the greatest celebrity rapist of all time and he only got 3-10.
I haven't looked into the dates of the r kelly accusations or what the statutes are for where the crimes were committed but hopefully they line up so as to be able to maximize the amount of time he can be put away.
So, not to be the wet blanket attacking everyones favoite hobby, but...
...how much of the problems talked about in recent news, do you feel pervades the porn industry in general?
In terms of not only ages, but consent.
Personally, I always assumed "who would risk anything less", if we're talking "visable" companies. I've personally known people who worked in the industry.
Otoh, some of the Ukrainians or asians, say, you kind of wonder about.
