If you are lifting for fitness or bodybuilding instead of powerlifting, time-under-tension with great form is more important than weight. I'd advise anyone to do 225 for 20 reps instead of 315 for 5 reps. And if you want to push yourself, you can do dumbbell press, pyramids, drop-sets, etc. No need to use weight that can destroy your shoulders or pecs. You can still hurt yourself with 225. But for my body, that's about the upper limit, I feel, before you can hurt yourself safely lifting.

So you're saying I should gain weight?Actually, in case anyone is interested, I've lost about 20 pounds over the last 2 1/2 months. Celebrate.
You could. As you get stronger, your muscles will get bigger. So your upper body may get heavier (but your gut gets smaller).
And, congrats on losing that weight. You're doing a good job.
