For all his power, Lawnmower Man still had to figure out a password and had limitations, proving he is constrained by certain rules in the digital realm.

Clu was a clone copy of God himself -- the Co-Admin to Flynn's Admin. That being said, you cannot beat Clu on the Grid unless you have the ability to attain Flynn-level Admin privileges...and even then, the only way you can 'beat' Clu is by reintegration, which kills both parties.
