Afro Samurai is... kinda similar in the bad-assness type of way.

Ninja Scroll is a great movie and shares a lot with Berserk but in Japan with Samurai.

If we're talking just pure bad-ass anime, it doesn't get more bad-ass then Cowboy Bebop and Gurren Lagann.

Pure manliness.
