I know very little of Patreon aside from the basics, so I can't really comment, but if it's described as you say, it seems like they just wanted Sargon off and found any excuse to do it.But Patreon is a private company(?), so they can do that.
It's not an ethical endeavor for the CEO of the company to repeatedly and publicly say in interviews "Our rules only apply to what is posted on Patreon, and not what our users post on any other website" and then for Patreon to cut off someone's source of revenue for something they said offline.
It's legal, and it is their right. But it's not morally correct.

They can, I just don't think it's ethical to hold people's source of revenue in your hands and not be clear about what the terms of service are. It's not an ethical endeavor for the CEO of the company to repeatedly and publicly say in interviews "Our rules only apply to what is posted on Patreon, and not what our users post on any other website" and then for Patreon to cut off someone's source of revenue for something they said offline.

I would agree there if Sargon was an employee of Patreon, but it seems he was only using their platform like he does with other social media, no?
Again, it seems like Patreon wanted him gone and they found any reason to do it.
But to me that's a foolish blanket rule to make out of Patreon. eg What if someone on Patreon doesn't break the rules, but is posting pro pedophilia comments elsewhere. As the CEO of Patreon, I'd not want a member like that.

The thing is though they will call us "nutjobs" regardless for simply supporting strong borders, wanting a wall built, thinking that you should be required to have an id to vote, being pro-gun rights, or being against abortion.Or even just believing in God, of course.

It's understandable for you to not want a member like that. Which is why it would be silly for you to say you aren't gonna get rid of people for things they say off Patreon, correct?

Yes, I said that it was a stupid blanket statement for Patreon's CEO to make and I noted that it seems Patreon just wanted Sargon gone and went about to do that regardless.
Immoral? Maybe, but would really need to know the real reason behind Sargon getting the boot, as there seems to me more to this.

It wouldn't shock me if paypal put pressure on them.

Trump attacks social media sites after James Woods, Alex Jones other extremist conservatives bannedTrump claims: "It’s getting worse and worse for Conservatives on social media!"
The president’s comments came after Facebook this week banned Louis Farrakhan, Alex Jones and other extremists, saying they violated its ban on “dangerous individuals.” The company also removed right-wing personalities Paul Nehlen, Milo Yiannopoulos, Paul Joseph Watson and Laura Loomer, along with Jones’ site, Infowars, which often posts false conspiracy theories. The latest bans apply both to Facebook’s main service and to Instagram and extend to fan pages and other related accounts. -snip
In reality: Woods' Twitter account was not taken down but locked due to one tweet that violated Twitter's rules. Twitter spokeswoman Katie Rosborough said Woods will need to delete the tweet that violated its rules before he can be reinstated -snip
Me right now: 😂
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a judge's affirmation of a Florida ruling ordering far-right Islamophobic conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer and her company Illoominate Media to pay CAIR almost $125,000 in attorney's fees and costs stemming from a lawsuit falsely claiming the Muslim civil rights organization colluded with Twitter to have her banned. Yesterday, United States District Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II said Loomer owed $123,761.65 to CAIR and its Florida chapter, plus $661.72 in costs.
"They won't get a dime from me. I've been living the 'you'll own nothing and be happy' lifestyle for years, before COVID made it trendy," she blared in a Telegram post on Thursday evening. "Thanks to cancel culture!" In a statement, Loomer said her legal team will appeal the denial to her appeal.
