I've been here since I was 16 (June 2015).
Yesterday I went to play Gta V on PC (Only started to play the game this year when I could finally afford to build a proper pc to run it). Since the game came out in 2013, I wanted nothing more than to cruise around in ridiculous custom modified cars in gta online. Well I was able to for a short period of time---until I realized the game has degenerated into a money-grab by Rockstar with hackers ruining every. single. lobby you change into.
So I went to go play Alliance of Valiant Arms Dog Tag: a nostalgic fps I had been playing since age 12. Last year it shutdown under a different owner, but another group of developers had developed the rights and had been working on bringing it back by this time this year. I had the privilege of playing closed alpha testing months ago. Open beta was released this week, and a few days later (coincidentally the day I wanted to finally re-play it again) what do I see? A steam post by the new devs that they'd be closing the doors permanently in two weeks. Yes, the game was brought back to life only for it to die again shortly.
So I'm upset at this point, but not to worry, I have other medias of entertainment. I browse through my steam library only to find that I really don't. Nothing in the steam store intrigues me, and it has come to my realization that I've outgrown video games. Even when I was playing GTA online, I always felt I could be doing this IRL rather than wasting my energy on a game. Every since I reached adulthood, playing video games have begun to irritate me as I knew I now had the freedom to pursue success IRL.
KMC was originally a Star Wars outlet for me, and then one of general trolling. I get banned for it, come back, and see the forums are dead. My trolling has lost its charm, and I can't get the "high" I once experienced. Most of the entertaining users are gone.
I go to ComicVine only to find it's pretty much dead as well.
I was never into TV shows or movies, and I feel disgusted watching Anime.
I accept that it is simply time to move on. I tried playing with legos the other-day to try and spark my imagination; possibly experience boyhood again.
Time to move on...
