Shredder only "won" because he used a forbidden technique Bruce had no idea was even a thing, as Shredder and Splinter are the only two Shinobi Masters in existence with knowledge of the technique. Also it's a double-edged sword and could've killed Shredder in the process.

Uhm, ok? I mean, it's not like there were rules in place saying Shredder couldn't use whatever technique he had at his disposal. Winning due to his forbidden technique is still a valid win.

Like...it's a fight, a person uses whatever they have at their disposal. There are no cheats in a fight....
