Why are people on Reddit so simple-minded?

I enjoy Reddit for the plethora of information you can gather in niche subreddits and such, but in the larger communities you are attacked for saying anything that could be interpreted as going against the group opinion.

Like I make a informative post about the economic sustainability of whaling and I get downvoted into an oblivion and PMs telling me to "go f*ck myself" "get f*cked" "you're a douchebag" (you get the idea).

I'm not even discussing the ethics of whaling, just the economic sides of it and people don't know how to come up with a coherent counter argument. Just insults and down-voting your post so nobody else can be triggered by it.

There's a lot of childish sh*t on KMC, but nothing like what I see on Reddit. It quite literally is an echo-chamber outside of the smaller niche areas.

It really saddens me knowing that so many younger people can't think for themselves.

I agree.

Don't dare point out how terrible Obama was. Don't point out the lies and deceit the libtard media is regarding Trump. You are not allowed to point out the corruption from the Democratic Party.

reddit is a Democratic Party echo chamber. You can see when the Party has their shills come in, post content, and upvote it to the front page. It's like clockwork.

Maybe I don't want to be innundated with the Democratic Party lies all the time? Maybe I'd like to look at stupid memes, laugh at jokes, and read real news.

Seriously, Ocasio-Cortez has a team dedicated to just making her look good. All the time, she has "spin" up-voting heir content.

The world politics subreddit has detracted from what it was supposed to be (you know, news in Japan, Russia, etc) to one where all the top posts are just anti-Trump, anti-Republican memes/bashing.

Reddit is full of shit heads
