The movie definitely has it's problems, but I still find things to enjoy about it. The premise is just too fun.
I will say I don't know how I missed the connection to Aliens... I guess I was enjoying the film subconsciously because it was a remake of Aliens, haha...

I did, hence the smilie-tongueI've only skimmed that comic, but I've heard from others who have read it that Synder pretty much captured the comic on film.
Pretty much, yes. Few subtle differences/additions.
If he sticked to that (with his other comic films), he would be f*cking worshipped.

No comparison. Snyder's DotD is superior in every conceivable way, imo.But evidently this movie is getting an animation-style prequel series on Netflix... So yay? /shrug
That's what I thought.
Knowing Snyder, he will try to "fix" the film in the special cut for dvd/blu-ray, as always.

This was pure ass, dirty ass.
I'm glad you specified dirty ass because I can definitely think of some assess I would love to shove in my face (Some I may not even care if they're dirty naughty).
But in all seriousness, I am a little curious to see how this plays a second time. I suspect it will not be quite so enjoyable.

The same-old, same-old reason, I'm sure: military applications. 🙄Just like ALIENS! 😱
Not bad action and zombie flick. I was surprised I liked it so much. All the characters minus 2 were likeable. You wanted them to survive this.
I like the fact that Zack went for the I am legend zombies motif instead of just brainless creatures. They had a hierarchy, she was pregnant and carrying a whole new life form. I especially liked the Alpha zombie. The fact that he retained some sense of his military training by way of the way he controlled the zombies and wearing that mask was a nice touch.
As for the 2 i likeable characters, they were the daughter and the Coyote. The daughter should have died for her selfishness. Her dad died because of her stupidity. Worse yet, the woman she went in to save died in the copter crash, which I found to be hilarious. Her whole arc was useless from beginning to end. All she received in the end for her selfishness is more pain. I know she would survived because I don’t think Zack would have killed her off because of his real life daughters passing.
The coyote was just as dumb. She knows the law in Vegas, yet a shady guy in sunglasses makes her a stupid promise, a promise by the way that’s not possible unless shady guy had direct access to the President, and she believed him.
Here’s what I found directors needs to understand about explosions. A car won’t just explode in a ball of fire by just ramming into each other. Those explosions aren’t instantaneous like the opening made it out to be.
Also in regards to the Latina. Diesel would not explode from one round. You need a strong flame to ignite diesel, let alone causing said explosion. Visually it looks cool, but it holds no substance.
Another big thing was the nuclear usage, that was just stupid. You would need to destroy the virus completely, so they would actually use a stronger bomb, and nuclear is not it. For all you know, using nuclear could have just mutate the virus and make it stronger.
The black guy walking out after the blast also made so sense. The safe should have cooked him like a chicken when the bomb went off. Him coming out and walking around also was wrong, everything around him would have still been charged with nuclear residue, killing him instantly.
Not a perfect film, but an enjoyable film nonetheless. If you like zombie movies, this ones for you.
I also like the meta aspect when the black guy was explaining those dead bodies could be them, and they are just another variation of themselves trying to pull off the heist.
