I kind of wonder how that would have turned out if Star-Lord hadn't tried the dance off. Because, even though he wasn't aware of it then, he was still an immortal half-celestial. What would have happened if Ronan had used the power stone to blow him up or something? According to Ego, as long as his core remained intact, neither of them could truly die.

If Thanos goes head on to Asgard or PG Ronan he dies.
