MCU Blade

Just like how they were flip flopping with Venom 2 being R.

Venom 1 and Morbius, too. Now they're trying the same trick with Kraven, promising it to be R-rated.

And sure, it was all Sony... so yes, there's a chance it'll be different with Blade... but let's just wait and see; we can't take it for granted.

Apparently Mahershala Ali secretly dropped that Blade will be played as a gay character and he's beyond excited as his portrayal of gay pianist Don Shirley in 2018's 'Green Book' is one of his favorite roles.

At this point I think the inevitable backlash to that will be the least of its problems. It's already gone through 4 rewrites and 2 directors.

How are they f**king up Blade? They have two fantastic films as a template. God damn MCU.

With all the problems this film has had with Script rewrites and film release delays

Fiege should get Ryan Coogler to do the film, After his success with Sinners.

Seems the film is dead in the water now, lame.

If Coogler were to get it, he'd probably want to cast M.B. Jordan as Blade. Mahershala Ali is a vastly superior actor, but he's 51 now, while Jordan is under 40. Maybe recast Ali as Blade's mentor.

I think he'd keep Ali as Blade. Or cast someone not MBJ. He's too ingrained as Killmonger to make it make sense unless they go multiversal and I think people just know him as Killmonger.

Besides, with all the training MCU actors get and some CGI, there's no reason he couldn't get a few movies as Blade with him looking and playing the physicality part.

No one would really give a shit that MBJ played a villain in one other MCU film.

True enough, but having someone under forty in a high-action roll that could last 10+ years is smarter than a over 50.

I think within the MCU Coogler will just stick with the BP franchise.

It's a disappointing defeat for Kevin Feige that this never got off the ground, even with actors and directors attached. But, now opportunity arises to just do a Midnight Sons project, and team up Blade with Moon Knight, Ghost Rider and others.

Or they could just let Blade fade into obscurity.

That has always been his superpower in comics.

He does seem a bit s*** in the comics.

But the 90's Spider-Man animation and Wesley Snipes portrayed him top. Don't forget that was the first big blockbuster Marvel film. Before X-Men.

Benefits of deviating from the source material, heh.

That was a different time. It's not going to happen again.

His recent book was somewhat decent

what gets me is there's all these supposedly Blade fans out there, but when there is a new book. Not a great deal of people read it.

Because the books invariably suck.

Ass, not blood.

Also, no body reads comics anymore, nothing really sells these days. Kids have all drifted to manga.
