I was highly cynical in regards to politics most of my adult life. Ron Paul and Barack Obama generated some interest in politics, but while I agreed with some of what they ran on, I came to realize both were still highly full of shit.

I was somewhat familiar with Bernie Sanders before 2015, and was excited when he announced his candidacy for the presidency. I think he's genuine and not afraid to call out bullshit, and I like his humanistic utilitarian approach on issues like healthcare, environmentalism, education, wages, and housing. I also like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the same reasons.

So, while I do agree that most politicians are there to push an agenda and generally don't give a shit about people, there are definitely some who genuinely want to help as many people as they can more than securing their political careers.

Not in government per say, but I am in the Military. I probably shouldn’t say met, but from the many politicians I’ve listened too. They say one thing, then turn around and do the opposite of what they ran on.

To me, all politicians are the same, even the good ones.
