Perfect Organism
Ah, as a Matrix film defender, I appreciate a little more depth instead of just, "It sucked." You're already 10x more intelligent than most of the people who post here, so for that I commend you! 😂
But is there a line that the Analyst said that makes you think he's specifically a misogynist? Because I've watched the film 3 times so far and I don't recall such a line.
And as for any "woke SJW" stuff, I also don't get that accusation. Remember the original Matrix films did a diverse cast before it was trendy or "forced" into movies for demographic or whatever reasons. It just fits the world. They even wanted a "double-gender" character in M1, but the studio shot it down (hence the name Switch). Give Lana credit for not just cramming in some unnecessary trans character. Something like that could have justified the unnecessary "woke" accusations you're making. She's smart and likes to have a reason for things. Also, see Sense8. It features an international cast, straight, bi, trans, you name it. But they're well-written. That's the key. The majority of that cast is in (or referenced in) Resurrections.
And the Meta stuff. Look, I'm convinced now (especially after hearing an interview from the Wachoskis from a few years ago) that Lana was going for sort of a Modern art effect with this film. It's still a linear continuation of the series, but also a Meta commentary on film as a construct, as a MATRIX. And especially big studio films as a construct. It's actually pretty incredible that she was given the freedom to do this. It's remarkable. And they're continuing to deconstruct their own creations throughout the series (this time bullet time being used against Neo and Trinity). They're playing with expectations. It's smart writing, like it or not. Just like the reveal in Reloaded that Neo was the 6th "One." It deconstructed the savior expectation.
The action wasn't ground breaking, sure (Although I still argue that a lot of it is still visually fun and exciting). They're mainly copying themselves with flips and wall walking and breaking thru concrete, etc. But audiences are jaded. We've seen everything done before in Marvel movies or whatnot. So why try to outdo it?
