Mini suns. When he needed to kill Galactus he took him to a white dwarf star, he wasn't creating full stars.

The smallest one was actually powerful enough to light a world and burn the abyss on its surface into ash. The next two progressively got much larger. They were full stars in that they were fully functioning stars by themselves.

Irrelevant that Surfer was going to throw baby g into a dwarf star. Thats just cool storytellying. By feats he could have disposed of him a million ways. Transmute his ship, blast his head off, drop a fresh sun on his head, or even create a black hole in his brain.
