If I was Bezos wealthy, I'd be the world's greatest conservationist, buying land all over the world. eg I'd buy miles and miles of the Amazon, making it a preserve. I'd buy land for agriculture too, but insist those who use it use sensible renewable and clean(er) methods.Like what Ted Turner did in the US, but on a much larger scale.

That's good.
That would increase the quality of life for everyone including you. Not sure why people that ultra rich don't realize that.

Because it doesn’t really work like that.
Look at the US, how much money has the government thrown at combating poverty?
For anything to work, people needs to want to it, all the money and resources won’t help much when people are to lazy to work.

They pay lip service to improving the lot of the "little people", pay some of them quite well especially managers from the west, but, they never do anything truly altruistic. Their own grabbing hand only gives if it helps it grab more.

Often has a lot to do with corruption and mismanagement than just apathy.

I prefer my cities that do not have the following problems:
children starving at a rate of 1 out of 5
homelessness
drugs
gang violence
lack of free access to good healthcare
One Billionaire in one moderately sized city could solve all of those problems just from investment dividends. Meanwhile, the city prospers, jobs are created, and the Billionaire can go get a dam hot dog from a hot dog stand with stepping over human feces and not have to worry about getting mugged.
A billion dollars is astoundingly difficult to comprehend. I'll put it into perspective. The most I've ever made is $410 an hour in a 2 week gig to act as an incident commander for a major cybersecurity incident. That's a shitload of money, right? I could make a billion eventually being an incident commander for major cyber-incidents, right? Seems reasonable.
Wrong. So wrong.
If you wanted to earn $1 billion and you worked for $2000/hr. Say you work full time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. You could have started working your full-time, $2000/hr job when they signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and you'd finally earn your 1 billionth dollar last month in August. 243 years and 8 months.
Astounding, isn't it?

I agree with you in helping, but money is not the sole solution. Human beings are selfish creatures that looks out for themselves first and for most.
The majority of homeless individuals are lazy, they lack any wills to better themselves, instead they rather do drugs then help better their lives.
The majority of billionaires have no incentive to give away their billions if there’s no profit to be made. They themselves believed they worked for that money, so why should they outright give their hard earned money away to those who refuses to work.

Now that you've expounded on your point, I agree with it.
You're right.
For example, throwing money at a homeless druggy will NOT solve the homeless problem.

I guess I should have explain myself more.
But yeah, I do think it is our individual rights to help leave the world a better place than what we were given.
I think the first step will be for politicians to stop taking money from donors for favors. The second this happens, the US and the word will see a giant shift.
