You're conflating what some people did with what I did. I thought Captain Marvel would be dog shit based on trailers, but I didn't give bad reviews like those who flooded Rotten Tomatoes with bad reviews before it came out. And I think lots of people form opinions based on trailers.

And while I certainly talked about it I personally was not in some panic over anything Brie Larson said or anything in the movie. I'm sure if you looked you could find someone who legit was upset.

I will also note I did in fact not double down on my opinion of the movie after I saw it. I gave it a 5 out of 10, said it had some cringe, but that it wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would be...and even said I felt it deserved a chance to continue telling the story.

So we're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

Will also point out if this film is supposed to be "Far Left" propaganda and Joker's followers are supposed to represent "Antifa" as some claim, then the movie failed miserably to push that claimed agenda, as neither the Joker nor his followers are the heroes of the film.

I just hope the butthurt over what incels might have done and the sheer hysteria surrounding this movie do not harm its oscar chances. This doesn't mean I'm saying it should be nominated, rather just that the only factors they should take into account are the quality of the film and its performances. The fact someone might be offended over a best picture or best actor nomination/win should not factor into the equation.

If I had to bet I'd say it will get a best picture nom and a best actor nom, but neither will win. Though the chances of a victory for best actor would be higher than that of best picture.

They are much closer to "Occupy Wall Street" protesters than Antifa. However, there is a very large overlap between OWS and Antifa.

Yes. Not a sensible decision, that one. Might be a case of them simply not knowing much about him as I'm not sure his case is well known outside the UK.
