A Daryl Morey tweet has sparked an international incident.

The Rockets general manager posted a now-deleted tweet Friday evening expressing support for the pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong. He then deleted said tweet and published a follow-up Sunday, saying he "did not intend" to offend any Chinese fans.

JONATHAN FEIGEN AT HOUSTONCHRONICLE.COM: As outcry in China grows, Rockets GM Daryl Morey's job appears safe

Following Morey's tweet, the China Basketball Association, chaired by former Rockets star Yao Ming, publicly declared that it would suspend all "exchanges and cooperation" with the Rockets.

In addition, the NBA's Chinese partners suspended ties with the franchise, Chinese sponsors pulled their money and Chinese TV outlets said they would no longer broadcast Rockets games.

It's always good seeing money grubbing assholes with no core values anger literally EVERYBODY in their two faced appeasement efforts.

I read about this last night.

I wish we would clap back with ever harsher penalties. "Don't support American businesses because they support freedom (America! mother f*ckers!)? Fine, feel the wrath of the world's largest economy. Censorship this, assholes!"

And then thousands of the top American businesses do the same thing to Chinese businesses that they are doing, now.

Oh,.I agree.

Say what you will about China, but at least they feel strongly enough about their country, that they're willing to sacrifice a little bit of money when you wound their national pride.

One of the sayings I hate to hear, is "I'm a citizen of the world".

It's a nice, safe saying that offends few, and promises loyalty to no one.

Yeah. China is also willing to sacrifice a lot of Human Lives for that same National Pride to..
