Thoughts on the last decade

Nearly 2020, what's everyone's thoughts on the decade nearly gone? Good, bad, nothing?

All the moves based in 2020 are nothing compared to current reality

Largely shit, tbh.

I enjoyed 2010-2020 more than 2000-2010.

And hey, we did have some pretty good tv shows, movies, and video games come out.

What happened to your decade?

My health went to shit, and I realised just how little empathy there was in the world.

There's like 12 or 13. Not enough to go around, obviously--it's why wars are fought.

If you ignore the refugee problems recently...

1. Crime of all types is at all time lows
2. Health is better than ever
3. Clean water is available to more than ever
4. Electricity is available to more than ever
5. Jobs are up to record numbers
6. Workforce participation greatly increased in many countries (a better indicator of the economy unemployment)
7. Massive breakthroughs in all sorts of technologies
8. More money than ever is being put into the space sciences

However!!!!

1. Mental health is going through drastic problems across the globe due to leisure time and social media (these things should be considered a comorbidity)
2. Suicides and suicide attempts are at record highs for your women
3. Very little is being done to fight the suicides among men
4. More men than women exist in the world due to abortions: something not true in the previous decade. Stupid sexist Chinese people...
5. More money than ever is being wasted on Global Warming and "green" initiatives. It has become a behemoth of an industry: monotonized, traded, politicized, and turned into religious doctrine. All to the detriment of fighting environmental issues that would actually improve the environment the future of the biosphere. Truly the second biggest waste in human existence at the moment.

Sounds about right.

Then there's, you know, China and Russia being dicks. The "west" not being the good guys they should be. A housing crisis here in Ireland... Oh, and a lack of humility to go along with so little empathy too.

There's a bit more humility than empathy, actually. But whereas empathy can be easily accessed via simple blast mining, humility is generally only found in large igneous rock deposits under the seafloor in the abyssal plain--much harder to extract.

The good guys turned out to be bad, the bad guys turned out to be good.

Spain did o.k.

"Joker" was clearly a low budget experiment to test the "Incel market".

If you thought "woke" was annoying, strap yourself in for the year of the "neo con" pandering.

If ****ing only.

Not a waste at all, something that needs to be increased

We need to increase the wasted spending on "fighting climate change" instead of refocusing on pollution, clean energy, and renewable energy?

Aren't those, like... the key things in fighting climate change, alongside carbon capture? What are the things in your quotation marks supposed to be?
