What about the first film did you hate so much? It was kind of boring and by the numbers but not significantly worse than the bulk of the MCU IMO. The franchise definitely has worse, even if it also has much better.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the best MCU franchise though, it's true. 👆

It DID feel significantly worse than most MCU movies to me. I went into detail in the original thread... starting HERE

But in short: stupid, unnecessary super "Girl Power" character rushed into the MCU before Endgame, shitty incorporation of 90s music (which is sort of a cherished era to me), and Larson actually didn't seem right or charismatic enough for the role (which is weird because Marvel usually gets that right). Oh, and shape shifting is a sci fi cliche that needs to die or at least be used very sparingly.

I still gotta give the movie props for being so damn butthurt over Brie Larson being told to smile they included a scene of a guy telling her to smile more and then she steals his motorcycle.

Do you think all the back slapping caused any permanent damage?

They also did something like that in a recent issue of the Captain Marvel comic.

I’m w. you on Brie not seeming right or charismatic.
It -is- a miscast by Marvel, but a costly one. This isn’t a one and done like Christopher Eccleston as Malekith. This is a major character slated for multiple appearances and solo films.
