in the case of nurses and medics, I think the odds would be more akin to biological blackjack. my sis is an RN and has been lucky so far not to contract it, but next week that could easily change. again, hope you recover very quickly; especially since at the moment you're easily the most essential person posting here, and I hope you're back at work soon 👆
According to reporting by the New York Times and the BBC there is evidence that the deaths from Covid-19 are undercounted by a significant amount. They found evidence for this is Spain, the United Kingdom and New York, among others.
They figure that out by comparing the historical average death rate for a particular month to the overall death rate in this year, which shows an increase of deaths larger than the officially counted deaths from Covid-19. (and larger than statistical noise)

And there are reports of deaths by all causes being down, too (impossible for that to hold up because of economic ruin, increased cancer, increased substance abuse, and increased suicide rates - they will all increase if not already).
Also, the deaths may not be directly from COVID-19 but from the stress related to it and the fear of seeking medical attention during a pandemic. Substance abuse skyrockets during economic crises.

Reuters also fact checked the "deaths are actually down, for all causes." That's partially true but partially false as we may be sitting on deaths for up to 8 weeks that were not properly tallied:

Some of it can be attributed to the odd cold "surge" we experienced the previous 2 weeks.
Some of it can be attributed to the increased stress related to the pandemic.
And some of it can be attributed to the fear of seeking medical attention during the pandemic.

Sweden hasn't locked down but, contrary to what the boffins state on the internet, have implemented some mitigation measures. However, they remain largely open. Despite their liberal approach to the pandemic, they see similar rates to other countries that have taken extreme mitigation measures against the spread of the virus. This obviously calls into question the logic behind the mitigation measures many countries are putting into place.
Re: Blakemore, the guy was going through substance abuse and on strong medication. He committed no crimes, if the Police thought he had or was a danger he would have been arrested. He is no Pedo, he shared something he probably shouldn't have on the internet. I genuinely feel people should cut him some slack as this mentally impaired incident was years ago.

Myself and the GF are on lockdown but I still have had to go outside on a few occasions, the best gameplan I have really is to minimize human contact for extended periods, been avoiding supermarkets and things like that and heading to the local shop early in the morning. It's the boredom mostly, even with streaming and binge-watching, etc. There's a good chance she's going to end up pregnant by the time this is all over. I'm wondering what will happen to pregnancy rates, people who live together or near each other are going to have more sex most likely but drunken, sleazy one-night stands have virtually been eliminated. I'd be interested to see how this has affected crime rates in general really.
