Kerala is the place to start on the mainland. Also a great holiday, not as much of a culture shock as most of India. It still has a lot of a British feel.
Honestly, I'd rather be culture shocked when visiting a foreign country, put me in the thick of it. If I want to see more White people, I can go outside here 😛
My one worry, well, besides my innards having a bad reaction to the water and shitting myself for 48hours, is I've heard from multiple people, both Indian and travelers, that it can be dangerous for Caucasian women due to Indian men 'grope gangs', but it can be avoided if you stay away from crowded areas and public transport. As I'd be traveling with my wife for sure, possibly kids.
Any insight on this?

India, South East Asia, China, will all be like the first world in 50 years, Parts of Africa and South America will be the only fun places left.

There will always be books though.
COVID Death Rate Now Over 2X Higher in Rural Areas
A study released this month found that the rates of COVID-19 cases and deaths in rural areas have far surpassed those being observed in metropolitan communities, with rural mortality rates more than double that of urban ones.
The study from the Rural Policy Research Institute's Center for Rural Health Policy found that as the summer ended, the coronavirus infection and mortality rates of rural and urban communities began to diverge.
Currently, the seven-day moving average in rural areas is 66.8 confirmed cases per 100,000 while in urban areas it is around 43.3 cases. Apart from lower vaccination rates and a higher amount of infections, rural communities tend to have higher rates of poor health in general, with the pandemic compounding these pre-existing conditions.

Its sad what twits Kevin Sorbo and Dean Cain turned out to be politically.
I've not seen much of Cain's comments, but Sorbo is a brainlet. I love it when Lucy Lawless puts him and his asinine commentary in place.
