If you don't have time to actually volunteer to make the world better, donating your earned money to legitimate charitable causes is the next best thing. It allows others to use that money to do good for the people and communities that need it.
As the saying goes, "Put your money where your mouth is." If you preach a message of Christianity, do Christian stuff...like helping the poor.
