Star Wars: The High Republic (aka. "Project Luminous")

That artwork is....ehh...I'm not really big on it. I still find this disaster thing really silly too.

I don't like some of the facial expressions but I do like the general aesthetic and coloring. It has a whimsical, exotic nature that reminds me of the old TotJ comics.

Yeah, I don't mind the style either 😛

Interesting feat...

What exactly is she holding back?

gg, it’s good they’re expanding a bit more on the abilities of your average padawans. As some people also said in the versus threads, Legends Jedi seem to operate at a higher level compared to thei canon counterparts, but I guess that with the new releases canon Jedi will get some cool feats too

Not really sure those two are suppose to be average given what is noted about them, still it's a nice feat the two of them together are holding up raining debris.

Well, for their age they are very skilled, but i bet your average knight who is like 10 years older has still a good edge on them

I mean maybe, we'll have to see if any average Knight shows up and see what's what.

Are they holding back that massive central object? 😕

So the Drengir... They are a form of carnivorous/sentient plant life who are "profoundly" connected to the dark side -- their aim is to devour all non-botanical life forms across the galaxy.

At some point the Drengir were encountered by ancient Sith, who considered them a significant threat and bound them to a space station with a set of Force dampening statues they poured their power/darkness into.

The High Republic Jedi stumbled upon this station, found the statues, and inadvertently freed the Drengir.

Soo basically Force Sensitive Vong.

They are much different then the vong.

Well organic beings who want to get rid of anything non living, at least sounds similar to the Vong MO of wanting/hating anything technology related that wasn’t organic.

I guess their end goal is similar but that's where all parallels stop.

The drengir are basically what you'd get if the Dagobah cave came to life.

Yeah, it was the large central piece of debris, imo.

They weren't even attempting to deflect the smaller debris beforehand -- but when that thing appeared, the Jedi immediately began holding it off to avoid complete annihilation.

It's one of the better TK feats in canon.

Feats aside, are you liking this issue Galan?

I still say the individual issues have been mediocre so far.

The story will probably be more cohesive as a whole once I go back and read the entire series sequentially, after all the issues have been released.

I just noticed this as well:

A nod to Meetra Surik?

I definitely think so. What is he referring to when mentioning “surik’s blade”? Literally her lightsaber?
