Tomb Raider deserves better.

Nothing against Alicia Vikander, but they do need better writers and bigger budget.

Absolutely wrong. The character-driven action/adventure Indiana Jones-esque style was perfect. This is the sort of story that would be ruined by a bunch of over-writing and unnecessary CGI bullshit. Not everything should be a Marvel/DC spectacle crap-fest.

Did you even play the game this movie was based on?

In the game which is Lara’s first adventure, she had to battle mythical creatures that serves an immortal Emperess that control the weather itself.

remember this film has been pushed back until 2375

Great, but the audience won't support the budget for something like that (and I'd prefer that they continue to get made) and movies tend to be better when using that sort of stuff sparingly. I actually liked that the first film was mostly grounded and character driven. There's very minimal supernatural stuff, "All myths have a foundation in reality" (the line is something like that). Lara is relatable and Alicia Vikander is a stellar actress so she carries it extremely well, IMO. So this is a series that shows great promise (that is if it can compete with Marvel and DC crapfests).

i guess wb wants a cash grab to something no one actually saw

Leech doesn't play any games, Only watches his brother play them if i remember or goes on youtube for the cutscenes.

I think not adding the one key factor that made the game so good was a mistake. That’s why I felt the movie wasn’t as good as it should have been. The run time for the movie was also a letdown.

I don’t think Lara is relatable at all. I honestly never understand that aspect in story telling. I’ve even said myself a few times, only to scrap my head and say huh?

Agree. Alicia is not only a good actress, but she’s also petty good looking. She used those assets of hers to give life to a mediocre script.

The film doesn’t need to compete with either DC/Marvel since the canon it’s based on its already full of great contents.

Alita deserves a sequel more

Cheap ass zombie virus and going full retard with it certainly didn't help the film.

So yes - they either need better effects or better writing.

^^^Or less constipated moviegoers.

^^^^^^^ Or less rivs.

Which they ripped off Uncharted 1's Mcguffin.

Uncharted. I saw a fake trailer once w. Nathan Fillion, which was pretty cool!

I guess the movie IS being made w. Tom Holland, though?
Did not know that, but I dig it...:

I think Holland might be playing a younger Drake for the movie, Can't really see him as the older Drake.

Yeah, it’s going to be an origin story...:

Apparently there’s a mentor character named Sully in the games? He’ll be played much younger too.

Did those guys not see the Nathan Fillion short on youtube? The man was Drake.

I can’t see Holland being that good honestly.

Yeah I mentioned that trailer. 😛

Anyway, it’s an origin story. Hence, Drake would have to be young, eh.

Yeah, That Uncharted fan film was good. I hope whoever's doing the actual Uncharted movie has watched that film it to get an actual feel of how to do it.

Looking forward to this one.

Same.
PPL's ability to screw up projects like this never fails to amaze me.
