Great, but the audience won't support the budget for something like that (and I'd prefer that they continue to get made) and movies tend to be better when using that sort of stuff sparingly. I actually liked that the first film was mostly grounded and character driven. There's very minimal supernatural stuff, "All myths have a foundation in reality" (the line is something like that). Lara is relatable and Alicia Vikander is a stellar actress so she carries it extremely well, IMO. So this is a series that shows great promise (that is if it can compete with Marvel and DC crapfests).
I think not adding the one key factor that made the game so good was a mistake. That’s why I felt the movie wasn’t as good as it should have been. The run time for the movie was also a letdown.
I don’t think Lara is relatable at all. I honestly never understand that aspect in story telling. I’ve even said myself a few times, only to scrap my head and say huh?
Agree. Alicia is not only a good actress, but she’s also petty good looking. She used those assets of hers to give life to a mediocre script.
The film doesn’t need to compete with either DC/Marvel since the canon it’s based on its already full of great contents.
