“No normal human is able to fight like that,” Smith said. “I’m by no means the baddest dude on the planet. But he’s a regular Joe and I had a hard time dealing with him. And he took everything that I gave him – every punch, every knee, every elbow. He took every single one of them and kept fighting me.”
Lol yeah the intruder was on some drugs. Most likely PCP.

Dude was a HS wrestling champ, so to imply he's completely untrained is false.
Still glad no one was killed, no pussy guns were pulled. They fought like real men; massive respect to Anthony Smith.

Yup. Sounds like PCP.
It's pretty scary. It's the closest people will get to being truly possessed.

Missed this.
Agreed. Loss of life wasn't a factor in this. Smith had every right to take this dude's life. He didn't. He had the skills to subdue the invader until the cops arrived.
This is a win, 100%.
To put it more humanely, the home invader may be a dude who is down on his luck and got hooked on drugs. He needs to rehabilitate and reintegrate back into society as a productive member. Killing him comes with a huge tax payer cost to investigate, debate, and decide on what to do with Smith. Smith would have to clean his house, too. Smith would also have to deal with the emotional trauma from this situation as would his whole family. Then the invader's family has to deal with the loss of their son's life. It's a shitty situation for everyone. This was the best possible outcome and perhaps it was providence that the home invader decided to invade the home of one of the world's best hand to hand fighter - saved his life.

This is all true. And yet it doesn't change the fact you're not a pussy if you pull out a gun when someone breaks into your home in order to protect your family.
The pussy in the situation when it comes to a gun would be if the intruder brought one. Not someone using it for defense.
So we can talk about the fallout from such an act, but it absolutely isn't cowardly to wanna protect your family.

Dude handled it like a real man, with his fist 👆

There is nothing more satisfying than burying your fist into someone's [face] who has wronged you or harmed you until you've had enough. The triumph of knocking them out and they lay on the ground in the "fencing response" is extremely satisfying. This is not from a desire to do violence, this is a desire to get revenge from being wronged. It is a basic human desire for justice.

But handling things with your fists against criminals is usually the wrong move. Dude would be dead if guy had a gun or knife.
Dude handled it like a real man; with his fist, no one was killed, he protected his family. Feel good thread. Period.

kinda agree, but ditch the gun and use a hammer. Nothing has the stopping power of a hammer. And you won't accidentally kill the people you're trying to protect

Sure was - from invading his home, scaring him, and scaring his family. For that, his justice was a fist to the face, knees to the body, kicks to the body, and a submission hold. 🙂
