Is Removing Surfers board a crippling weakness?

Started a Surfer run a few days ago

And so far two random characters (Champion, and The Runner) have taken him off his board.

Is this a debilitating weakness for him in combat, or can he still pose a threat to high tier characters without it?

CIS causes him to forget that his board is an extension of himself and only he can control it. He can manipulate his board easily plus writers early on tried the Thor approach to give him a weakness to exploit.

Yes it’s a weakness. He base his fighting prowess with it and it’s got its own power reserve, the board is pretty much another limb for him, however he can still be pretty damn dangerous without it.
