To Republican/Right Leaning Posters - What do you value in Politics

There seems to be a pretty strong ideological divide on this forum. In this thread I'd be interested to hear from posters that consider themselves more in the right leaning camp (this is solely based on how you define right and left for yourself), I will make a similar one for Democratic Leaning and Left posters.

The question is "What do you value in Politics?"

By that I mean, what do you want your ideal world to be, what are important political topics to you, what are political lines you are not willing to cross, how do you think people and politicians should behave, how do you feel society is ordered right now, things like that

I don't want this to devolve into an argument immediately, although I understand my ability to influence that is limited, but please if you would, at least initially, let's not attack whatever the posters thoughts are.

If you view yourself as somewhere in the middle, please use the thread you prefer

I'll go find all my political positions and figure out which ones are right leaning, tomorrow, if I have time. Thursdays are usually chocked full of meetings for me. And I also have to reconcile "secured sites" vs "sites that have gotten a risk assessment" which includes all sites. That is tedious and will take a while.

Libertarians are center-right. So, if you're a libertarian, you lean to the right.

I consider myself to lean heavily to the right and, in a nutshell, above all, I value individual freedoms: the right to bear arms, the right to life (including defenseless unborn babies), the right to assemble, free speech, freedom of religion, etc.. Basically, I value the Bill of Rights more than anything else when it comes to politics. I also greatly value the free will not to take a god**** vaccination shot if I don't want one.

I also care greatly about immigration laws being strictly enforced. There is probably more I could add but it'd take a while. That's good enough for now.

Someone who truly understands the political spectrum, as i do, knows that it is really based on how much control the government should have over people's lives. Those who lean heavily to the right, like me, think that government should have a limited role in our lives while leftists, particularly far leftists, almost think of government as their "god" lol. They all love really big government.

That's why people on the left who claim that the Nazis were "right-wing" are dead wrong, though they'll never admit it of course. Fascism, communism, and socialism are all big government ideologies. Hence, they're all on the left despite how much leftists try so damn hard to convince everyone that Hitler and his nazi thugs were right-wing.

Libertarians are all the way from extreme right to extreme left.

Libertarians are an extremely diverse political ideology.

the whole conception of left vs. right comes from the french uprisings and as that it's grossly out of today's times

you can be rightwinged hard in terms of social values and leftwinged in economical ones

Yeah, the political compass is perhaps slightly better, but it is also missing a lot of factors that go into political thought. I do think it is somewhat valuable though since the left-right divide is still something that is very common in political discourse, and people do often define themselves by it.

political compass is infinitely better, even if it's obviously very simple, it's still at least considering that you can very easily be hardcore rightwinged in few areas and hardcore leftist in others

Wow, thanks for this. I'll take the test. There was an other test I found that was much better than the classic Political Compass test.

There was also one where I participated in research for Oklahoma University. That one had over 250 questions and I thought it was the best test I took.

The test was pretty good. Some questions are questions that are based on facts and, therefore, not answering in a certain way expresses the ignorance or, frankly, incorrect opinions. Other than that, the test wasn't that bad.

I only took the short test cos I'm away to leave for work. Might take the long test later.

The absolute best question on that test is "Those who do not work should die."
