Yeah, I feel like that's the problem. This is essentially just a Kitty vs Superman fight.

The thread title tries to isolate the phasing issue but the actual thread stipulations are 100% just a standard vs thread lol.

It's like asking if Wolverine could stab Superman, but allowing Superman to just fly away. What exactly were you going for?

Yes. Exactly.

Been saying that since page 1, Albert didn't even adjust the stips.

Are you saying he can tag her from a distance?

Agreed.

Superman could stand there and tank Kitty's phase attempt, would be more interesting.

I'm saying he can achieve the goal stated in the OP.

Read my earlier posts and stop getting hard and wet with precum whenever Kitty is mentioned; it's borderline creepy at this point 😛

It was a joke, I was repeating Alberto's non sequitur from the first page.

Oh 😮

Anyway, serious question here --- what upgrade she's received at the end of The Black Vortex cross-over and was it permanent?

Alberto desperately wants it to be a gamechanger, it seems.

What Alberto wants is dur

She became universal in power.

Was it permanent? Technically, yes. She didn't give it up, and no comics showed her losing the amp.

HOWEVER, no subsequent comics showed any difference in her power levels - the BV storyline was back in 2015. So one could chalk it up to writer error. Or use headcanon and say she's holding back, or whatever.

So just like no comic showed Hercules reversing a half strength depowering from the 90's, even though future stories showed him at full power levels.

What do you mean? The latest depowerment? Zeus gave it back to him.

The one before that. Back in the 1990's, he only had half his strength, for some reason.

Not sure on the details, I only learned this from John Ostranders Heroes for Hire run. It's the one where he gets drunk and fisted by Danny.

Far as I can find from digging around and asking experts, he was never officially repowered.

Thanks.

If she indeed retained her universal level of power, then she wouldn't be showing off with her mundane bartender tricks she learned ~16-19 years ago sometime during Claremont's X-Treme X-Men run.

Yeah, it was discussed plenty of times on KMC. It's one big incoherent mess.

While it's possible to narrow it down when Herc got re-powered back to full power/immortality, it's not exactly clear.

Yeah. In the Star-Lord series, she was actually worried that her and Peter would die from the lack of oxygen in their ship.

When Superman can do this:

Yeah, mainstream comics will always suffer from dropped storylines from time to time.

Beast was ripping tanks apart, punching craters in the ground, and beat up Frenzy a long time ago. He never officially lost the amp, but Marvel hasn't acknowledged it in about 30 years.

Prof X had a creepy pedo crush on Jean in the early years, but that got dropped right quick lol.

Black Vortex Kitty is the same. Confusing scene that mentions her as both universal and multiversal, then totally back to normal after the event. No one else has acknowledged it, so it can't be considered standard Kitty.

I don't think Xavier forgot about it; Jean just outgrew it.

That puts the afternoon Xavier spent with Jubilee into a whole new light.

Especially the cover...

😆 Nice. 👆
