Help me Save the planet.

Since you losers here probably don’t do enough to be carbon neutral, you can do your part to help me reduce my carbon footprint by using your big brains.

I’m always coming up with new energy conservation projects and don’t mind getting other people’s takes on the plans, effort vs reward, or doing something no one else has done.

My pressing current project

Relocating my PC tower to a location to use its passive heat or get the heat out of the house.

Ideas thus far

1. Putting my PC in my AC mechanical closet.

The space is double insulated, quiet and cool. The rise in heat gain would quickly be evaporated by the HVAC Central Unit. I stuffed my DVR in the same closet. Keeps it cool and keeps the rest of the house cool.

Problems: Space

2. Putting my PC near my water heater. The water tank would absorb the ambient air it puts out which is aroun 85F. The water tank would sock up that heat and store it.

Problems: the air handler/hvac unit sits above it and the grated door would that the air flows through would be blocked and lower my CFP for the air handler return. Thus a new hole would need to be cut in the wall to allow more airflow.

3. Putting it in my mud room/laundry room. (Current Best Idea)

The room is insulated, I would need to cut a hole in way to run the cables into the master. The hot air would then be removed via exhaust fan. Which can be kept on for the summer and off in the winter. Bonus would be the laundry could be dried by air by the ambient rise in hemp store and the low humidity.

4. Keep it in my master bedroom (Simplest solution )

Hook up a dry exhaust duct to the outgoing aircraft Remove the exterior brick and have the air flow go outside.

What would you do

i got rid of my automobile as it was no longer essential, erasing my carbon footprint in that regard.

also invested in a reverse osmosis water purification system, eliminating my plastic waste from bottled water.

I live in the third world and have a solar inverter.

Same here, which solution should I proceed with. I’m leaning to 3 or 4

so as you can see, my eco-penis is far bigger than yours broly, and whirly's is even bigger than my own gargantuan monster

Why should I? That is an honest question by the way.

Here’s the thing, my carbon foot print don’t even register in the schemes of things, compares to the rich who owns multiple mansions, and vehicles, and boats and planes.

Compares me to someone like Al Gore. Let’s take my carbon foot prints for 10 years straight, and compares it to Al Gore’s 1 year carbon foot print. How do you think they look?

So if those rich individuals aren’t changing, why should I, who is middle class by the way, make life for myself even harder?

Because you have an RO unit?

Dude please keep politics out of this. Seriously

no

I'd try with 4) seems the easiet and least invasive to your house. If you feel it's not doing much, you won't be out much time/money going with option 3)

because zero automobile carbon footprint? i take the bus now.

but you need to flex your status and be a super-car showoff, so i understand why you can't take that leap and sacrifice a bit

wouldn't be safe for me to walk round here or use public transport.

#3 requires one interior hole in the wall and a lot more potential for energy recovery in summer and winter.

#4 requires a hole exterior wall and another per say exterior dryer vent. No energy recovery and more of an eye sore.

Seems like option 3 is the best

I figured that. mass transit is probably an abstract concept over there

I drive an EV powered by the sun, so my carbon footprint is less than your bus trip.

Feel free to turn every thread you post in, into a pissing toxic match. Maybe put me on ignore and I will put you back on ignore and we can let it go. Or we can throw some more shit which I was willing to bow out of for the weekend.

I don't blame you. not worth the risk of starring in a snuff video

Your going sideways again out of your hatred. This thread has nothing to do with that thread and I haven’t even bought my of those cars yet. Advice from many people was wait until this economic downturn blows over to make any major purchase and it’s the best decision.

take the bus, and eliminate plastic waste. oh wait I already posted that advice 😉
