Blade and his blade are covered up by Boy-Thing and it burns through Gladiator as with anyone with fear (you can see the flame). It also burns through an intangible Surfer. Why are you trying so hard?

Looks to me like he just proved Gladiator is as vulnerable to magic as Superman.
