That's actually not a lie from the mayor, it's a fact. Despite the violence that happened in the "zone", there were indeed peaceful demonstrations as well. There's literally footage of demonstrations happening and no one is acting violent.

Though I am sure you do actually realize there can both be violent demonstrations and peaceful demonstrations over the same subject; sometimes going on at the same time. eg Trump rallies.
