After all of this rage and destruction of public property:
There needs to be a movement of racists who make historically racist figures into very large statues. And then put them on private property. And then have people stand guard over the private property. Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Barack Obama, all the KKK dragons over the years, etc. All the most racist and horrible figures in all of history. Make statues of them. Large ones.
Then watch all the buttmad rage happen.

That is basically how we got a lot of the racist statues in the US. As a response to civil rights gains (that we all nowadays ostensibly agree to, anyways). A lot of these statues should have been taken down years ago, and replaced with time limited contemporary art works and statues. Culture is a lived thing, and we are not preserving it by freezing it in time, we are destroying it.

I don't think you can compare taking down of a few old statues by a relatively small group of on the whole powerless protestors to a large scale, decade spanning, centrally-planned authoritarian reeducation campaign perpetrated by and extremely powerful state.

The only thing stopping that is our current sociopolitical structure, if the people tearing down the statues gained power please believe it would be like the cultural revolution, or the stalinist purges.

To teach these children who are in adults bodies that they cannot force their will on others and sometimes, people will look, do, and say things that they do not agree with.
No one can really force them to do anything, though. Not really.
If they didn't have skin in this game, they'd simply reframe the protests in a way that lets them crack down, and the media would compliantly ignore them.

No, what I said was, they are forcing their will on others by destroying property.
They need to be taught that they cannot do that. They cannot force their will on others. They need to be more emotionally mature adults.
